How to properly clean an insect screen?
To ensure your insect screen lasts long and retains its neat appearance, it should be cleaned regularly and gently. Over time, dust and dirt accumulate on the mesh. For everyday maintenance, you can use a standard vacuum cleaner – just be careful not to apply pressure directly to the screen surface.
For a deeper clean:
- Remove the screen from the window and place it in a bathtub or shower, where it can be gently rinsed with lukewarm water.
- If possible, place the screen outside on a lawn or flat surface and lightly rinse it using a garden hose, avoiding high water pressure.
- Stubborn dirt can be removed with a soft brush or sponge, using mild soapy water if necessary.
Important: All cleaning should be done carefully – do not use abrasive cleaners, solvents, or high-pressure washers, as these may damage the mesh or frame.
Frames are made from strong extruded aluminium and have unlimited durability thanks to metal joints and premium finishes.
Can you replace just the mesh?
Yes! After a few years, you can choose to:
- Replace just the mesh (fabric)
- Or update the entire insect screen structure
