Important!

If a drip edge or metal profile projects beyond the frame surface, include it in the T2 measurement (as shown by the red line in the image). This ensures the screen is fitted with the correct mounting hooks.

What’s in the box: Aluminum frame with mesh, mounting hooks (×4 – 2 long for the top, 2 short for the bottom), mounting screws (×8).

Locate the top of the frame – marked with a green dot. Place the frame on a flat, clean surface.

Screw the two long hooks to the top of the frame (green dot side), and the two short hooks to the bottom. Use a PZ1 cross-head screwdriver. Tighten firmly – do not overtighten.

Open the window. Hold the frame by the side edges and carefully pass it through the opening to the outside.

Hook the top hooks onto the window frame. Check that they sit firmly and grip the edges correctly.

Gently pull the frame by the bottom handle and hook the bottom hooks onto the window frame. When all hooks are in place, the screen is securely installed and ready to use.

Where to Install

Insect screen in frame mounts on the outside of the window frame and works best on inward-opening windows used for ventilation – bedrooms, living rooms, home offices. Avoid windows you regularly lean out of or need full access to.

The mesh is not impact-resistant. Keep in mind that high-traffic areas where children or pets may push, scratch, or knock against the screen will shorten its lifespan. For those situations, consider Pet Screen.

Cleaning

Vacuum regularly with a soft brush attachment to prevent dust buildup. For deeper cleaning: remove the screen, place it flat in a bathtub or on the lawn, and rinse with a garden hose. If dirt remains, scrub gently with a soft brush and mild soapy water. No solvents, no abrasive cleaners.

Removal & Storage

To remove: pull the screen upward and lift it out of the frame – no tools needed. Store flat in a dry place. Most customers leave screens installed year-round; the frame and mesh are built for it.

Take care of your screen and it will take care of you – season after season.

A framed insect screen is made from a durable, extruded aluminum profile with stainless steel corner joints, ensuring stability and long-lasting performance. The screen is mounted directly onto the wooden window frame using stainless steel mounting hooks, making installation simple and quick. It permanently (or seasonally) covers the window opening, effectively keeping insects out while allowing fresh air and natural light to enter. A practical, affordable, and reliable solution for windows you keep open frequently during the summer season.
The framed insect screen is simply hooked onto the window frame using stainless steel mounting hooks, so no drilling into the window frame is required. The mounting hooks are included with the insect screen frame. Before installation, the hooks must be screwed onto the screen frame, after which the frame is ready to be easily hung in the window. Hanging the screen in the window frame takes approximately 3 - 5 minutes. Only a Phillips screwdriver with a PZ1 bit is required to attach the hooks.
If you plan to install a framed insect screen, drilling into the window frame is usually not required - the screen is simply hooked onto the frame using mounting hooks. Roller insect screens offer several installation options depending on the window construction: mounting inside the window reveal with screws, fixing to the window frame with screws, or - if the surface is smooth and suitable - installation using high-adhesion adhesive tape. Installation with screws involves fixing into the window structure, so we recommend assessing the technical condition and suitability of your window before installation. Screw holes are typically small, and if the insect screen is removed later, they can be easily filled with wood filler.
Framed insect screens are installed without drilling. This type of screen is suitable for inward-opening windows. The screen is simply hooked onto the window frame using mounting hooks. To install a framed insect screen, you need to measure the height and width of the window opening as well as the thickness of the window frame at the sides and top. Measurements should be taken in millimeters (mm) using a metal tape measure. Detailed measuring instructions are available on the product page.
The framed insect screen is simply hooked onto the window frame using mounting hooks and is suitable for inward-opening windows. The window can be opened and closed freely while the screen remains in place throughout the season. The screen does not need to be removed during winter.
The framed insect screen can be quickly removed for the winter season if needed. Store the screen flat in a dry place to prevent accidental stepping on it or other mechanical damage. Removing the screen during winter can extend its lifespan and allows full access to the window. Reinstallation in spring takes just a few minutes - simply hang the screen back onto the mounting hooks.
The insect screen frame is made from a highly durable extruded aluminum profile, ensuring long-lasting stability. Powder-coated profiles feature a high-quality finish that provides an even surface - the frame is rust-resistant and the coating does not peel. You can choose from several mesh options to suit your needs: the highly durable and almost invisible Transpatec mesh, standard fiberglass mesh, reinforced polyester pet-resistant mesh, or pollen mesh. All necessary mounting hardware (screws and stainless steel mounting hooks) is included. Available in 5 standard frame colours: white (RAL 9016), anodized, anthracite (RAL 7016), light brown (RAL 8001), brown (RAL 8014).
With proper care, aluminum frames last at least 10+ years. Standard fiberglass mesh typically lasts 5+ years before the first signs of wear may appear, while pet-resistant mesh lasts even longer. The product comes with a 2-year warranty for private customers and a 1-year warranty for business customers, covering manufacturing defects only. Regular cleaning and proper use help extend the lifespan of the mesh.
Yes, for framed screens, mesh replacement is possible. Contact us with your order details and screen measurements, and we'll provide a quote for replacement mesh. This is more cost-effective than buying a new screen if the frame is still in good condition.
If you have cats or dogs that may scratch the screen, we offer a specially reinforced pet-resistant mesh designed for pet owners. This mesh is made from a heavy-duty material and is significantly stronger than standard fiberglass mesh, providing better resistance to scratching and everyday wear. With approximately 40% transparency, the mesh is more visible to pets, creating a natural visual barrier. Please note that the mesh is not intended to function as a safety or physical barrier - strong impact may damage the mesh or dislodge it from the frame. The pet-resistant mesh also helps protect your home from unwanted “visitors” such as insects, birds, rodents, and reptiles.
Framed insect screen prices start from approximately €40-60 for small windows and vary depending on size and selected options (pet-resistant mesh, Transpatec mesh, custom colours, etc.). You will see the exact price while configuring your screen in the online calculator. Delivery and pickup options depend on your selected shipping method. Each insect screen is custom-made precisely to your specified measurements.
