  • All measurements must be taken and entered in millimeters (mm). 94cm = 940mm
  • Measure carefully and each door individually – even if they look identical.
  • Do not use a ruler or tailor’s tape. Always use a steel tape measure for accurate results.

1.Measure the width (W) of the door opening from left to right at the very top (W1) and again at the very bottom (W2)

If the measurements differ, use the smaller of the two.

2. Measure the height (H) of the door opening from top to bottom on both sides (H1; H2)

If the measurements differ, use the smaller one.

  • Your door frame must have at least 45 mm of flat mounting space on the top and both sides.
  • Make sure there is 6–14 mm of clearance at the bottom.
  • Side profile thickness, housing where the blind retracts, varies depending on door width (W) and ranges from 109 mm to 147 mm.

The dimensions of the finished product will be the same as the dimensions you have measured.

What’s in the box: Pleated mesh panel, top & bottom profiles, side profiles (×2), mounting screws, decorative caps.

1.Connect the side profiles to the top profile and secure the joints with a hex key.

2. Place the frame profile on the door frame (A) or inside the door frame (B) and screw it in place using the supplied screws.

3. Peel the protective tape from the bottom threshold, insert it into the side guides, and glue the threshold to the floor.

4. Check the cords at the top and bottom of the roll-out unit for tension. Make sure the cords are not crossed.

5. Insert the pull-out block into the top and bottom guides. On the side from which the net will be pulled, lock it into the side guides by pressing firmly.

6. Insert and fix the cord tension profile on the opposite side.

7. Tighten the cords in the upper and lower guides using a hex key. Check that the net remains vertical when opening — if not, repeat this step.

8. Check that the net opens smoothly without catching. Insert the magnetic tape into the tensioning profile.

Where to Install

Pleated insect screen works on doors of various sizes and is especially well-suited for doorways where space is limited – it folds flat when open, taking up virtually no room. Ideal for installation inside the doorway.

Cleaning

Over time, dust may accumulate on the screen. If cleaning is needed, pull the screen out and carefully vacuum it using a soft brush attachment.

For more thorough cleaning, open the screen and gently wipe it with a soft, slightly damp cloth or a soft brush. If necessary, use mild soapy water.

Regular cleaning will help keep the screen looking good and prevent dirt from building up.

Clean gently and avoid stretching or deforming the screen material.
Do not use solvents, abrasive cleaners, or harsh chemicals.

Removal & Storage

It is not necessary to remove the screen for the winter season – simply slide it into the side profile.

If you still wish to remove it, unlock the string tension profiles on both sides of the mesh and lift the handle strip out of the upper and lower thresholds. No tools are required.

If removing the screen for winter storage, keep it flat in a dry place.

Take care of your screen and it will take care of you – season after season.

Extend the screen fully and gently vacuum or brush dust off. For deeper cleaning, wipe with a damp cloth and mild soap-be very gentle with pleated mesh, do not pull or stretch. Clean tracks with a small brush. Let air dry before folding. Clean 2-3 times per year.
Sliding or pleated insect screen doors are an excellent choice for larger openings. A distinctive feature of the system is the use of a special pleated mesh, which when closed folds like an accordion and retracts into the side profile, saving space and maintaining free movement. During the installation of the pleated mesh, it is possible to choose the opening direction of the pleated door - right or left. Sliding insect screens are more suitable for less frequent use, narrower spaces or situations when the mesh needs to be compactly placed on the side.
Sliding (pleated) insect screen doors offer a modern, space-saving solution for effective insect protection. The unique pleated mesh smoothly slides to the side when not in use, maintaining an unobstructed view and blending seamlessly with your door design. The pleated mesh runs in stable top and bottom tracks, ensuring smooth and quiet operation. Pull the handle to extend the screen across the opening - it locks securely in place with magnetic or clip closures. When not needed, simply slide it back, and the mesh folds accordion-style into a compact side cassette (side cassette thickness ranges from 109-147 mm depending on the opening width).
Pleated insect screen installation instructions are available on the product page to make the mounting process simple and clear. Installation typically takes about 45 minutes using a drill, level, and screwdriver. All required mounting hardware and detailed instructions are included, allowing you to install the screen easily yourself.
Yes, sliding (pleated) insect screen doors can cover wide openings (up to 2000 mm), making them ideal for patio doors and larger entrances. The screen folds compactly to the side regardless of width, without taking up extra swing space like hinged doors. If you need a solution for even wider openings, please contact us for a custom-made offer tailored to your needs.
Sliding (pleated) insect screen doors are not designed to be fitted with pet-resistant mesh. The pleated mesh is lightweight and flexible, so it may be damaged if pets scratch, pull, or try to climb on it. Compared to fixed framed screens, the pleated mechanism is more delicate, so it is recommended to supervise pets initially. If you have active cats or dogs, we recommend considering insect screen solutions with pet-resistant mesh options, such as hinged insect screen doors with pet mesh, which are better suited for intensive use.
Foldable (pleated) insect screens are made from extruded aluminum profiles, ensuring durability in everyday use and resistance to weather conditions. The screen frame comes with a lifetime warranty, reflecting the long-lasting quality of the construction. With proper care, the pleated mesh lasts for many years, while the lifespan of the mechanism depends on usage intensity - gentle use helps maintain smooth operation over time. Frequent daily folding and unfolding may accelerate natural wear.
Foldable (pleated) screens are very easy to operate and ideal for wide openings or spaces where you don’t want a door swinging open. They slide smoothly to the side and take up minimal space when not in use, making them a great choice for modern patio doors or larger entrances. However, hinged screen doors are usually more convenient for frequent daily walk-through use, as you can simply push them open and let them close automatically behind you. Foldable screens are better suited for occasional to moderate use and for situations where space-saving design is the priority.
Sliding pleated insect screen doors work perfectly with bifold and sliding doors, providing convenient use and effective insect protection. The key requirement is having enough space on the door frame or within the opening for the finished screen dimensions and the selected mounting method. If you are unsure about compatibility or installation options, please contact us at info@insectnets.com and include photos of your doors - we will help assess the situation and recommend the most suitable solution.

Yes, foldable screens can stay installed all year. Simply fold them aside when not in use (winter months). This protects the pleated mesh and mechanism. Year-round installation is convenient, and the folded screen takes minimal space.
If the sliding insect screen mechanism stops working within 1 year for business customers or within 2 years for private customers, please contact us - we will assess the situation and check whether the issue meets the warranty conditions. If approved, a replacement will be provided under warranty. Even after the warranty period, replacement spare parts are available, allowing you to easily restore the product’s functionality and continue using it long-term.
The price of sliding (pleated) insect screen doors typically starts from around €300 and may vary depending on size and selected mounting options. The pleated mechanism makes the product slightly more expensive than classic hinged screen doors, but it provides a space-saving solution and an elegant design for larger openings. You will see the exact price while configuring your screen in the online calculator. Delivery and pickup options depend on your selected shipping method. Each insect screen is custom-made to your specified measurements, ensuring a precise fit for your door.

Den första dörren vi fick var trasig ( troligen Schenker ) Men det var jättebra service och vi fick snabbt en ny. Den passade perfekt. Det kan nog bli myggnät till fönster framöver.

Really a nice design and with a great feeling of quality when using it. Provided you do not have special/difficult mounting conditions and that your measurements are correct when sent to RIPO, the installation does not take long. Assembly and mounting is as easy as I could desire. A strongly recommended product, seen from my side.
