Recommended - Installing onto the door frame

Recommended - Installing onto the door frame

1. Measure the opening width (W)

Measure the clear space inside the door frame.

Just make sure the frame itself is at least 38mm wide on both sides.

2. Measure the opening height (H)

Again, measure the clear height of the opening.

Ensure you have at least 38mm of frame surface at both the top and bottom.

3. Check the layout

The red lines in the diagram show exactly where your new screen door will be mounted.

Note: The inner edges of the finished screen will match your opening, but keep in mind the total outer size will be 38mm larger on each side to allow for mounting.

Optional – Recess Mount: Installing inside the door opening

Optional – Recess Mount: Installing inside the door opening

1. Measure the width of the door opening at the top (W1) and the bottom (W2)

If the two numbers don’t match, use the smaller one. If there’s a slight gap when you install the screen, you can easily fill it with a sealant or weatherstripping.

2. Measure the total height (H) of the door opening

Make sure the door frame is at least 22mm wide on all sides.

For this mounting style, the final product will be manufactured to these exact total dimensions.

Where to Install

Insect screen door is designed for swing doors leading to a terrace, balcony, or garden — anywhere you go in and out frequently. If you have pets, consider upgrading the lower panel to Pet Screen: it’s more visible to animals and resists scratching better than standard mesh. Note: Pet Screen handles everyday contact, but cannot withstand sustained pressure or impact from large dogs.

Cleaning

Vacuum regularly with a soft brush attachment to prevent dust buildup. For deeper cleaning: remove the door, place it flat in a bathtub or on the lawn, and rinse with a garden hose. If dirt remains, scrub gently with a soft brush and mild soapy water. No solvents, no abrasive cleaners.

Removal & Storage

It is not necessary to remove the screen for the winter season.
If you still wish to remove it, pull the metal pins from the door hinges and lift the door out of the frame. No tools needed. Store flat in a dry place if removing for winter.

Take care of your screen and it will take care of you – season after season.

Hinged insect screen doors open like traditional doors and are ideal for high-traffic entrances and everyday use. They provide easy walk-through access while effectively keeping insects out and maintaining good airflow. A great choice for families with children and pet owners. The self-closing (magnetic) mechanism helps the door close automatically after each use, adding extra convenience and reliability. Hinged insect screen doors are designed to be durable and suitable for intensive daily use.
Hinged screen doors feature a self-closing mechanism (magnetic closure) that helps the door close automatically after you pass through. Magnetic strips along the door edge ensure a tight seal, effectively keeping insects out while holding the screen securely in place. The door remains firmly closed even in windy conditions, providing reliable everyday use.
Hinged insect screen doors are designed for easy DIY installation at home. Installation typically takes about 30-45 minutes using a drill, level, and screwdriver. All required mounting hardware and detailed instructions are included to make the process quick and straightforward. Take the door opening or overall dimension measurements according to the measuring instructions provided on the product page. It is important to ensure that there is enough space around the door for the overall dimensions of the finished insect screen product.
Hinged insect screen doors are the most suitable option for pets, as they are sturdy enough for dogs and cats to use (with a bit of training). For extra durability, we recommend choosing pet-resistant mesh in the lower section of the hinged door. Pleated (foldable) screens are less suitable for active pets, as their mechanism is more delicate.
Yes, insect screens have smooth edges and non-toxic materials. However, screens are NOT safety barriers-children should never lean on or push against screens. Screens are designed to block insects, not to prevent falls. Always supervise children near open windows.

Installation requires drilling (typically up to 10 screw holes to mount the insect screen frame). If you live in a rental property, we recommend checking with your landlord before installation. The screw holes are small and can be easily filled if needed. Many landlords approve this solution as it improves living comfort, helps prevent insect issues, and maintains full door functionality.
If the closer stops working within 1 year for business customers or within 2 years for private customers, please contact us so we can assess the situation and check whether it meets the warranty conditions. If approved, a replacement will be provided under warranty. Replacement closers are also available for purchase if needed.

Överraskande stabila och snygga. Känns exklusiva. Var noga och mät på båda sidor. Fick korrigera med järnfil då jag slarvade då den avvek med två mm på ena sidan.
