Measurement instructions

Image: Wooden window with aluminium cover.
What you will need:
- Construction tape measure
- Paper and pen, or a phone for notes
Important:
- All measurements must be taken and entered in millimetres (mm). 1 m = 100 cm = 1000 mm. Example: 98.4 cm = 984 mm
- Measure carefully and measure every window separately – even if they look identical.
- Do not replace a construction tape measure with a ruler or sewing tape.
For correct manufacture and mounting hook selection, 4 precise window frame measurements are required.

1. Measure frame thickness (T1)
- Measure the frame thickness (T1) at the side of the window, as shown in the picture.
- Write the result in millimetres.

2. Measure frame thickness in the bottom corner (T2)
- Measure the frame thickness in the bottom corner (T2).
- If the window has a sealing gasket, press it very gently while measuring.
- Write the result in millimetres.

Important!
If there is a drip edge / metal profile that projects beyond the frame surface, include it in the T2 measurement (see red line in the image).
This is important to ensure the insect net is equipped with correctly sized mounting hooks.

3. Measure window opening width (W)
- Measure the window opening width (W) as shown.
- Write the result in millimetres.

Make sure there is at least 19 mm of free space on both sides of the frame.

This space is needed for the outer size of the insect screen.

4. Measure window opening height (H)
- Measure the window opening height (H) as shown.
Write the result in millimetres.

Make sure there is at least 24 mm of free space at the top of the frame.

5. Enter your measurements
Enter all four measurements in the online order form, in millimetres.

Framed insect screen for inward-opening wooden windows with aluminium cover

Package contents
Aluminium frame with screen, 4 mounting hooks (2 long for the top, 2 shorter for the bottom), 8 mounting screws. Use a PZ1 cross-head screwdriver to fix the hooks to the frame. (The screwdriver is not included.)

Preparation
Find the top of the screen frame – it is marked with a green dot. Place the frame on a flat, clean surface.

Fixing the mounting hooks
Screw the two long hooks to the top side of the frame (with the green dot). Screw the two shorter hooks to the bottom. Use a PZ1 cross-head screwdriver. Make sure the hooks are firmly tightened, but do not overtighten the screws.

Placing the frame in the window
Open the window. Hold the frame by the side edges and carefully move it through the opening to the outside.

Top mounting
Hook the top hooks of the screen frame onto the window frame. Check that they sit firmly and catch the edges correctly.

Bottom mounting
Gently pull the screen frame by the bottom handle and hook the bottom hooks onto the window frame. When all hooks are in place, the insect screen is securely installed and ready to use.

Standard PVC mesh provides highly effective protection against insects, thanks to a mesh hole size of 1.41 x 1.58 mm with 60% transparency and good air circulation at the same time. This fabric has been tried and tested a million times over for years and is widely used in all insect screen types. Transpatec mesh offers exceptional 80% transparency and almost unrestricted light transmission – making it virtually invisible from both sides. This mesh type is designed for allergy sufferers – in contrast to other conventional mesh types, Polltec has an elongated mesh that is significantly larger on the narrow side than a pollen – this allows more air and light to pass through the fabric. Nevertheless, the pollen gets stuck on the fabric. The special coating is responsible for this, which virtually attracts the pollen and holds it there. Light transmission: 33%. The mesh, made from extra-strong material, is approximately 7 times more durable than standard fiberglass mesh and provides protection against pet scratches. The mesh hole size is 1.49 × 2.54 mm. With 40% transparency this mesh is more visible and safe for pets. Not only will the pet screen material prevent a pet from escaping, the mesh will also protect your home from outside intruders: insects, birds, rodent, and reptiles.
Standard - basic insect protection
Key advantages of the mesh:
Tear-resistant and weather-resistant fabric made from plastic-coated fiberglass;
Practically no fraying due to thermofixed infrared welding of the crossing points;
A good view thanks to the neutral grey coloring.
Transpatec - almost invisible screen
With a finer mesh size than standard fiberglass screens, it provides even better protection against mosquitoes. The mesh opening is just 1.27 x 1.34 mm.
Key advantages of the mesh:
Excellent visibility – almost invisible from any viewing angle;
Outstanding airflow – approx. 140% better than standard insect screens;
Self-cleaning coating – minimal maintenance required;
High resistance to tearing and weather conditions;
Environmentally friendly – produced without PVC or solvents.
Polltec - protection against pollen
This mesh also does not allow very small mosquitoes to pass through, since its hole size is only 1.37 x 0.41 mm.
Key advantages of the mesh:
Pollen protection: up to 99%, depending on wind speed and pollen size;
Greatly improved air permeability – up to three times better compared to conventional pollen protection fabrics;
ECARF (European Center for Allergy Research Foundation) awarded.
Pet screen - more durable and friendly for your pet
Best places for installing insect screen in frame
Insect screen in frame is intended for windows that open inwards and is mounted on the outside of the window frame. The best places are in rooms where you want to ventilate and let fresh air into the room and where you don’t need to use the window to lean out – for example to pick up things or water flowers. Keep in mind that the window on which you are going to install the net is not in a place where people will not notice it and accidentally damage it, because insect nets cannot withstand scratches, high pressure, shocks, etc. Rough treatment, e.g. by children and animals, can quickly make the insect screens ugly or damage them.
Cleaning
Over time, insect screens collect dust and dirt. The best thing you can do is regularly vacuum the insect screen. To clean the insect screen from other dirt, it is best to use a garden hose or similar. Remove the insect screen if possible. Place the insect screen in the bathtub or shower. If you have space outside, place it on the lawn or a hard surface, taking care not to expose it to dirt. If you rinse the insect screen regularly to prevent dirt from getting stuck in the net, you won’t have to remove stuck dirt later. If dirt is still stuck, use a sponge or a soft brush to scrub the insect screen. Use soapy water if necessary. Do not use solvents or abrasive cleaners.
Removal
Framed insect screens are easy to remove from the window if you need to clean it or if you want to remove it in the winter – just pull it up and remove it from the window frame.
